Templates and files

What is an SVG cut file?

An SVG cut file is a digital design that a cutting machine such as a Cricut or Silhouette reads to cut shapes from paper, cardstock or vinyl. The lines in the file tell the machine where to cut, and on our box templates, where to score or fold.

Which cutting machines can I use with CraftersworldZA templates?

Our box templates and SVG cut files work with Cricut (Design Space), Silhouette (Silhouette Studio) and other cutting machines that import SVG or DXF files. The DXF file is included for software that does not open SVG files, such as the free Basic edition of Silhouette Studio.

Can I use the templates without a cutting machine?

Yes. Every box template includes a PDF that you can print on your home printer, then cut out with scissors or a craft knife and fold by hand.

Which file formats are included?

Box templates include SVG, DXF and PDF files, delivered in a ZIP folder. Some SVG designs also include PNG and EPS files, and our printable party designs come as JPG files with an editable Canva link. The formats for each design are listed in its product description.

What paper or cardstock should I use for the box templates?

Use a medium to heavy cardstock so the box holds its shape. Patterned paper and lightweight cardboard also work, depending on the size of the box and what you are putting in it.

How do I resize a template without distorting it?

Keep the width and height locked together when you resize, so the box stays in proportion and the flaps still line up. In Cricut Design Space and Silhouette Studio this is the lock icon next to the size boxes.

Buying and downloading

How do I download my files after buying?

Your files are available immediately after payment. You can download them from the order confirmation page, from the link in your confirmation email, or at any time from My Account → Downloads on craftersworld.co.za.

Will anything be posted to me?

No. All CraftersworldZA products are digital downloads, so nothing is shipped. You print or cut the designs yourself.

How do I pay?

Payments are processed securely through Payfast. Prices are shown in South African rand (ZAR).

I can’t open my download. What should I do?

Box templates arrive as a ZIP folder. Unzip (extract) it first, then upload the SVG or DXF file to your cutting software. If you still have trouble, email sales@craftersworld.co.za with your order number and we will help.

Can I get a refund?

Because digital files cannot be returned, we do not offer refunds on digital downloads. If a file is faulty or you have trouble with your order, contact us and we will help sort it out. See our Refund and Returns Policy for details.

Using our designs

Can I sell items made with CraftersworldZA designs?

Yes, with a commercial licence. Box templates come with a choice of licence: Personal use (R75) for your own projects, or Commercial use (R150) to sell finished physical items you make, such as assembled boxes and party favours. With either licence, the digital files may not be shared, resold or used on print-on-demand platforms.

What is the difference between the Personal and Commercial licence?

The Personal use licence lets you make items for yourself, your family and friends. The Commercial use licence also lets you sell the finished physical items you make. Neither licence allows you to share or resell the digital files.

Can you create a custom design for me?

We design custom invitations and are always adding new templates. If you need something that is not in the shop yet, contact us with your idea.

Where is CraftersworldZA based?

CraftersworldZA is based in South Africa. Because everything is a digital download, our designs can be used anywhere.
